Main Floor
Old Post Office Museum is a historic building that is listed on the National Register of Historical Places. The rich history of this building is host to many artifacts regarding the history of the Lake Region Area. The post office building project was started July 1, 1908. And opened for business April 4, 1910; the building served as a post office, corthouse and home for a variety of other Federal agencies until it was retired in 1977. At that time, it was acquired by the Lake Region Heritage Center, and has been developed as a Museum and Historical center.

The main public lobby includes terrazzo floors, walls and pilaster bases faced with marble, and dark stained oak woodwork, all of which created to a cool, deliberate atmosphere. The main postal workroom on the first floor encompasses 2,286 sq. ft. and the poster master's office opened from the west end of this area. The second floor is finished with materials similar to the lobby.
